Peterborough swoop for Green Peterborough swoop for Green

After just 4 games into the new season, Dagenham Redbridge have lost talented winger Dominic Green in the transfer market to Peterborough United. Thats the bad news!Green: Off to PeterboroughOn the other side, this deal actually represents a good piece of busine s for the Daggers and one that will look very good in the long term. Dont get me wrong, Green will be mi sed as will the luxury of having a genuinely fast winger who can take players on. His free kick on the opening day of the Erik Haula Jersey season demonstrated just what a good left foot he had. Neverthele s, at this stage in his career Green is still developing as a player and it is clear that the Daggers havent seen the best of him. Therefore his level of performance can be covered relatively easily meaning his departure is hardly terminal for the team. A fully fit Richard Graham may not have the pace or skill of Green but he does bring experience, a decent left foot and someone who will drop back and help Scott Griffiths when we are on the back foot. If people are worried about the departure then they should look no further than the Craig Mackail Smith transfer. At the time Macca was the clubs star player and had formed a lethal partnership with Paul Benson. When he left a lot of people thought there was no way Shea Theodore Women Jersey we could po sibly replace him. Instead we brought in Ben Strevens. A player with a well known reputation at non league level who had been around a few clubs and scored at the majority of them. Over time Strevens, who is a totally different type of striker to Mackail Smith anyway, has grown as a player and has taken over the goalscoring responsibility totally minimising the lo s. Green will be replaced and considering he has only been a first team regular in the first 4 games, it shouldnt affect the team too much.It is also clear that the Daggers have a seemingly growing link with Peterborough United regarding transfers. In the Conference winning year, Dagenham sold Craig Mackail Smith and Shane Blackett to Peterborough for a combined fee of 250,000 whilst later in the season Dagenham loaned in Mark Arber from the Posh as cover. The beginning of last season saw two Peterborough fringe players in Peter Gain and Shane Huke arrive whist once again Mark Arber joined on loan in January (although this time it was from Stevenage). The Green transfer keeps this link running strong amongst the two clubs. Imagine that Dagenham are in the market for a specific Peterborough player (just like when we brought Huke and Gain) and are in competition with a few other clubs. The advantage is now with us. We have Green, Mackail Smith and Blackett at the Posh who will all recommend Dagenham as a good place to play your football whilst Peterborough know exactly what they are dealing with when they do busine s with Dagenham. Plus, a Peterborough fringe player is more than likely to be a good player for League 2. Im not suggesting that John Still is going to only buy Oscar Lindberg Jersey players from Peterborough as Im sure he wont limit his choices to just one club. However, if there is a player at Peterborough that we are interested in, it now gives us an automatic advantage. Another big coup for the Daggers is the fee that Peterborough have paid for Green. Peterborough Chairman Darragh MacAnthony described the transfer as the biggest amount of money spent on one player this summer. Now considering Sergio Torres was brought by the Posh this summer for a fee in the region of 150,000 200,000, it seems that the Daggers might have made around a fee of at least 150,000. Bear in mind that the Daggers could have established some sort of sell on Pierre-Edouard Bellemare Kids Jersey clause in the transfer and it looks a very profitable deal for the club. The biggest mystery of the transfer is what happened to Huddersfield Town. All weekend it seemed as if Green was poised to go their until the last minute revelation of Peterborough. My gue s would be that either Huddersfield was outbid or Green had a choice of two and went for Peterborough.Several people have also been wondering where the money from the transfer will end up. Will John Still bring in any new faces before the end of the transfer window or will the money go towards the new away stand? I think its fair to say that we will know the answer to this question by September 1st. My gue s at the moment would be that we need extra money to help fund the new stand so I think a large proportion of it will go towards that at least. Perhaps a small amount may be kept back to cover wages in case we need to make a loan at some stage of the season Reid Duke Men Jersey .All in all, what feels like a disappointing lo s after the promising start to the season will hopefully soon transpire into a good piece of busine s for the club. And whilst the name of Craig Mackail Smith is now a happy but distant memory thanks to the contribution from Ben Strevens, heres hoping we say the same in a season or two about Dominic Green.
