Rangers steam-rolled Dundee United last night at Ibrox in what was a special for Rangers striker Kris Boyd as he notched 5 goals to make him the SPLs all-time record goalscorer ahead of Celtics Henrik Lar son. Just 5 minutes later, Kris Boyd got his second with a superb, driven free-kick past Nicky Weaver who had absolutley no chance. As the floodgates began to open, Kris Boyd got his 3rd goal in 9 minutes when Sasa Papac and Kenny Miller combined to supply a low-cro s for Kris Boyd who slotted the ball into the net.At the start of the second half, Dundee United gave Rangers a hell of a time in the opening 20 minutes. Damian Casalinuovos cheeky flick from Paul Dixons hopeful cro s which Allan McGregor fumbled into his own net. Danny Cadamarteri was inches away from giving Brandon Wilson Jersey United a second goal just a few minutes later when his 25 yard effort went just over the cro sbar. After a clash between Kenny Miller and Darren Dods, Kenny Miller was shown a straight red card for violent conduct despite TV pictures showing very little contact from Miller as he lashed out on the aggre sive Darren Dods who wrestled him to the ground and walked away with no booking.Steven Whittaker scored Rangers 4th when he pounced on a Sean Dillon mistake to clip the ball into the net past Weaver. To an arousing chorus of Simply The Best by Tina Turner, Kris Boyd fired home the crucial goal which saw him break Henrik Lar sons Cincinnati Bengals Jackets record when he was first to pounce on a very poorly defended corner by the Dundee United defence. Boyd celebrated with the tongue celebration which was famously adopted by the Swedish striker. Boyd got his 5th when he nudged Whittaker out the road to fire home a Lafferty pa s into the net.
