Azerbaijan Confirms Eurovision 2022 Attendance

The country has been consistent in showing great results since they joined in 2008.

Azerbaijan will compete in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2022, according to Ictimai TV, the country's official broadcaster of the event.

Isa Melikov, a composer and producer, is expected to lead the Azerbaijani delegation to the competition. After national selections, however, the contestant and entry will be revealed.

Italy will host the Eurovision Song Contest in 2022. The European Broadcasting Union has yet to announce the event's dates. Bologna, Milan, Pesaro, Rimini, and Turin are apparently contending for the right to host Europe's largest music festival.

Thirty countries have confirmed their participation in the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest, which will be held in Italy, with at least 40 contestants set to compete.

Azerbaijan has been sending singers to Europe's greatest song competition, the Eurovision Song Contest, every year since 2008. The country's representatives have made it to the Eurovision finale thirteen times in the last thirteen years.

El Nikki, an Azerbaijani duo, won the contest in 2011 with their song "Running terrified," bringing the grand show to the country. The 57th Eurovision Song Contest was held a year later at the opulent Crystal Hall performance hall on the Caspian Sea seafront in Baku's capital city.

Samira Efendi represented Azerbaijan this year with her upbeat song "Mata Hari." The show ended with Italy's grandiose Mneskin rock band winning the Grand Final in the Dutch city of Rotterdam.
