Hints on the appearance of the “real” Batman in HBO’s Batgirl released by its director

The upcoming Batgirl film on HBO Max will feature the “real” Batman

With the upcoming Batgirl film, starring Leslie Grace as the eponymous character, the DC Extended Universe is going to make its mark on HBO Max. Jurnee Smollett's Black Canary feature and Matt Reeves' Gotham City Police Department procedural series are among the other projects in production at the streaming site. It's difficult to keep track of who the "true" Batman is with so many projects in the works with Michael Keaton's Batman due to return in The Flash.

For the first time in cinematic history, three different actors — Micheal Keaton, Ben Affleck, and Robert Pattinson – are portraying The Caped Crusader, raising the question of who is the "genuine" Batman.

Directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah both chuckled and stated "the genuine one" when asked by VRTNWS which Batman will appear in the upcoming Batgirl film.

In The Batman, Robert Pattinson's Dark Knight appears to reside in his own bleak, gothic bubble, so we can probably rule him out. Michael Keaton's Batman will appear through the multiverse, making him a "stranger" to the existing DCEU canon in some ways. This leaves Ben Affleck, who is rumored to be retiring from the role following his appearance in The Flash.

Leslie Grace, Batgirl, will be at the DC FanDome this weekend, so it's possible that we'll learn who the "true" Batman is.
