Adele and Taylor Swift's new albums are the anthem for  'Sad Girl Autumn'

People are eager to move on from "Hot Girl Summer" because of a few upcoming releases.

The warm weather has come to an end. The weather has gotten colder. The trees' leaves had begun to change hue. Just as pumpkin spice lattes and "Sad Girl Autumn" have returned, so too has the concept.

In social media users' opinion at least, that's what happened after Adele released the first 21 seconds of her new song, "Easy on Me," just after indie rock artist Mitski released the music video for his song "Working for the Knife," and after hit artist Taylor Swift announced that the 'Red' remake would be released a week earlier than expected.

Many people have been moved by the deluge of female artists who have released songs with themes of nostalgia, grief, and contemplation just in time for "Sad Girl Autumn." It's not the first time someone has used this phrase to describe an entire period of mourning. Previously, it was referred to as "Hot Vax Summer," a play on the song "Hot Girl Summer" by rapper Megan Thee Stallion. And this year, "seasonal devotion has seeped into the language," according to a recent piece in The New York Times. "Just one week apart, Taylor Swift and Adele will perform for sorrowful girl Autumn! One Twitter user said, "Our hearts aren't ready."

Another user wrote on Twitter, "mitski dropping a new song and adele dropping a new teaser. we are the AUTUMN NATION's sad girl!" However, the new releases don't always mean it's "Sad Girl Autumn." Some experts also disagreed that the music should be related to a specific season.

Professor Nate Sloan of musicology at USC observed, "There is no seasonal plan tied to the release of a single or an album. Instead of aiming to portray the current social and economic climate, these artists are channeling their own anxieties and feelings to a wider audience."

Musicians tap into their own experiences to create tunes that appeal to a broad audience.

The ability of these musicians to portray their vulnerability behind the mic, however, is undeniable, according to pop music experts. This connects with fans.

To quote Berklee College of Music forensic musicologist Joe Bennett, "all of these musicians bring an incredible intimacy to the microphone, so you can catch every aspect of their emotion in their voices."

Sloan wholeheartedly agreed with you. During an appearance on NPR's "Tiny Desk Concert" series in 2019, Swift addressed the topic by talking about the fan response to the original release of "Red."

A lot of people who care about my music, especially those on the internet...have made the mistake of associating my album "Red" with fall," Swift explained. "You know, I think it's simply an album that feels like it was made in the fall."

Fans don't care if artists like Adele, Mitski, or Swift scheduled their releases to coincide with the seasons; they're still ready to mope around and be blue. Adele will release a new song on Friday, and her album "30" will be available worldwide on November 19. 'Red (Taylor's Version)' will be released on Nov. 12 under the name 'Red'. Mitski's North American tour tickets have already sold out, according to a tweet she sent out recently.

Some of the most creative and innovative female artists, such as Mitski, Adele, and Taylor Swift, are tapping into these emotional and musical gray regions, and that's why people respond to them, according to him.

According to admirers, the gloomy songs sound best in the autumn.

Music from Swifties and Adele fans like Adam Patla, 27, taps into the aesthetic of fall, and people are thrilled to have a soundtrack for it. Patla said.

To him, being dramatic, blasting music, and acting as though you're the protagonist are all enjoyable activities, regardless of whether or not they are sad ones.

Sivi Satchithanandan, 24, said the dark music suited her mood.

It was her intention to hunker down in her blanket and play loud music to drown out the sounds of the other women. "I'm ready for my extinction," he said.
