More clips and surprises instored for The Eternals

New teaser promos for the MCU’s Eternals are out with new surprises

The next Marvel Studios film is about to hit theaters in just a few weeks, and it appears to be a unique addition to the franchise. Chloe Zhao directs Eternals, which promises to be both a visually spectacular film and an exciting new chapter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that introduces us to the universe's oldest – and probably most powerful – heroes for the first time.

Another new teaser promo for Eternals, which combines footage from previous trailers with new material showing Angelina Jolie's Thena and Richard Madden's Ikaris, has surfaced online ahead of the film's November release. It also offers another fan-pleasing homage to the larger MCU, following on from the Avengers references we've already seen. You can see it in the video above.

The trailer begins with Gemma Chan's Sersi giving a familiar account of the Eternals' past before Kit Harington's Dane Whitman asks why the immortal warriors have never protected the Earth before. They weren't allowed to... "Until now," she says. Though it isn't stated explicitly, we know that the Eternals were vowed by their founders, the Celestials, to never intervene unless their adversaries, the Deviants, were able to flee, which they did owe to the massive energy released by the Hulk's Infinity Snap in Avengers: Endgame.

The first of two major new clips are Ikaris recreating a stolen catchphrase. "Eternals gather!" he exclaims, demonstrating his Captain America fandom after declaring in another commercial that he'd like to lead the Avengers. Thena reveals her telepathic powers to the little son of Brian Tyree Henry's Phastos in the second new clip, which results in her babysitting privileges being terminated.

The more we see of Eternals, the more promising it appears to be. The anticipation is strong, then, for when we finally get to see the whole thing when it hits theaters on November 5th.
