Shang-Chi rumored to become a series in Disney+

More reason to enjoy your Marvel cravings in Disney+ with future Shang-Chi series rumored to be in the works

The Marvel Cinematic Universe's foray into episodic storytelling began with WandaVision in January, but there are already well over a dozen episodic streaming exclusives in various states of production or development, including spinoffs from previously announced projects.

The news that Kathryn Hahn's Agatha Harkness will be receiving her own Disney Plus series as part of a broader overall agreement the Primetime Emmy nominee had signed with the company has sparked a storm of speculation. Insider Daniel Richtman speculated that Teyonah Parris, Hahn's WandaVision co-star, would be next in line for the solo treatment and then quickly followed up with other rumors.

Meng'er Zhang, who starred in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, would apparently return to the MCU as the star of her own Disney Plus movie, according to Richtman. While there isn't much else to go on, and it's far from confirmed, you'd think it would follow the actress' Xialing as she rebuilds the titular organization.

After all, Shang-Chi concluded by stating that 'The Ten Rings Will Return,' so we know the plot will be continued in the future, but that doesn't imply it will be adapted for the big screen. While it isn't a foregone conclusion, it can't be ruled out at this time.
