There will be more tales about Greek gods from Rick Riordan in the near future. In order to promote his new novel, Percy Jackson and the Olympians author Rick Riordan is presently on a book tour. While it's a parody of Jules Verne's 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Riordan hasn't forgotten about his love of mythology. This is not the case: The author will be returning to Percy Jackson's universe in the near future, with a book centered on Nico di Angelo, the son of Hades who first appeared in The Titan's Curse way back when.
After The Trials of Apollo, the next Percy Jackson-related book, which has yet to be named, starts up with Nico. Even though Nico suffered the loss of his best buddy Jason Grace due to the events of that series, he still has a bright spot in the form of his boyfriend, Will Solace, an Apollo descendant.
A voice called out to Nico from Tartarus's deepest and darkest region, the Underworld, in The Tower of Nero (the final book in The Trials of Apollo), the final book in the series The Trials of Apollo. Nico believes Bob the Titan, who gave his life to help Percy Jackson and Annabeth Chase escape Tartarus in the previous Heroes of Olympus series, is the source of the voice he is hearing. Nico and Would are adamant in the new plot that they will rescue Bob against the objections of Camp Half-Blood counselors Chiron and Mr. D. While working on a new novel from Nico's point of view for The Tower of Nero, Riordan realized he couldn't accomplish it all by himself. To ensure that Nico's point of view was as authentic as possible, Riordan worked with YA novelist Mark Oshiro (Anger Is a Gift) in his first collaboration of this kind. The synopsis and manuscript were written jointly by Riordan and Oshiro, and both authors will be given equal credit for their work. Do not be alarmed, dear readers: Oshiro is a well-known author of books for young readers who identify as LGBTQ+, as well as a lifelong admirer of the Percy Jackson series.
This endeavor excites me to no end," Riordan added. To work with someone who is so knowledgeable about Nico and the Percy Jackson universe, as well as a writer of such heartbreakingly beautiful books, has been a truly fantastic and satisfying experience.
Oshiro went on to say: "It's an understatement to say that this is a dream come true. Throughout the Percy Jackson saga, I grew to love Nico and Will deeply and unwaveringly. It's an honor to be given the opportunity to tell their tale, and I look forward to doing them justice."
Disney-Hyperion will release Riordan and Oshiro's book in the summer of 2023. Between now and then, enjoy this preview of Nico and Will's upcoming album art. According to the author's announcement, he is currently working on a new novel featuring fan favorite characters Nico di Angelo (the son of Hades) and Will Solace (the son of Apollo), who are both romantically involved.
In order to work on this project, Riordan collaborated with YA novelist Mark Oshiro.
Riordan announced the news in a tweet: "It's happening, demigods: Rick and @MarkDoesStuff are writing a Nico and Will novel!"
According to Entertainment Weekly, "The Trials of Apollo" will be followed by a new book.
According to reports, Riordan said he was "enthusiastic" about the project. To work with someone who is so knowledgeable about Nico and the Percy Jackson universe, as well as a writer of such heartbreakingly beautiful books, has been a truly fantastic and satisfying experience.
Percy Jackson the Olympians, a popular book series featuring Percy Jackson, a once-normal young man who realizes at maturity that he is the son of Poseidon, is written by Riordan.
