Joe Wright is directing a romantic musical

Peter Dinklage will sing his heart out in the musical

In Cyrano's debut trailer, love is all around, yet it's just out of reach for many people. Watch the trailer above to see Peter Dinklage as Cyrano, Haley Bennett as Roxanne, and Kelvin Harrison Jr. as Christian in action. Enjoy. They both sing fresh musical songs in the trailer.

The retelling of Edmond Rostand's Cyrano de Bergerac, in which a man assists another in writing love letters to the woman they both adore, focuses more on the character's height than his nose, is called Cyrano de Bergerac.

It's Haley Bennett and Peter Dinklage in Cyrano Mountains, Peter Cyrano is based on the theatrical musical that Dinklage's wife, Erica Schmidt, wrote and directed and is directed by Joe Wright. The National's Aaron and Bryce Dessner provided the music, and Matt Berninger (also of The National) and Carin Besser contributed the words. Bashir Salahuddin and Monica Dolan will join Ben Mendelsohn and company on television. The role was originally played by Dinklage in 2018 at Goodspeed Opera House, and then by Bennett off-Broadway the following year.

Metro Goldwyn Mayer Pictures, Bron Creative, and Working Title are collaborating on the project. Producing credit goes to Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner, and Guy Heeley. Schmidt, Berninger, Besser, Dessner, Sarah-Jane Robinson, Sheeraz Shah, and Lucas Webb serve as executive producers. As a result of his time on "Game of Thrones," Peter Dinklage's part in Joe Wright's musical retelling of "Cyrano" will be a career-defining one for him.

Haley Bennett and Kelvin Harrison Jr. co-star with Dinklage in this new take on the famous tale, which features music by The National. Wright is returning to the historical romance genre that made him a household name with "Pride and Prejudice" after coming off the critical flop "The Woman in the Window."

This is how MGM describes "Cyrano" in their synopsis: "Award-winning director Joe Wright envelops moviegoers in the timeless tale of a devastating love triangle in 'Cyrano,. Cyrano de Bergerac (Peter Dinklage) is a man ahead of his time, and he dazzles in a verbal joust or a combat with dazzling swordplay. But Cyrano hasn't confessed his feelings for Roxanne (Haley Bennett) since he believes his appearance disqualifies him from her affections, and Roxanne has fallen in love with Christian (Kelvin Harrison, Jr.) at first sight.

Director Joe Wright isn't afraid to tackle stories that have already been adapted for the big screen by others; some of his prior credits include adaptations of Pride and Prejudice, Anna Karenina, and Peter Pan. However, he always manages to inject his own personality into the proceedings. Cyrano, based on Edmond Rostand's 1897 drama, finds a lovelorn poet, soldier, singer, and all-around Renaissance man named Cyrano de Bergerac (played by Peter Dinklage) unable to confess his feelings for the lovely Roxanne (played by Anne Hathaway) (Haley Bennett). Cyrano channels his love powers through Christian (Kelvin Harrison Jr. ), who he falls for as she falls for him.

Or, as the case may be, the show. Erica Schmidt, the show's creator and writer, presented a musical adaptation of the narrative before turning it into Cyrano. Who's the celebrity? Her on-screen husband is Peter Dinklage, who is also her husband in real life. Wright, on the other hand, watched the show when it was still in its infancy.

A rough workshop version of the show was presented at the Goodspeed Theatre in Connecticut, where a lot of musicals are developed, as Wright recalls. "As a teenager, I saw the Gérard Depardieu film adaptation of the original Rostand play and was utterly mesmerized by it. After that, I attended a production workshop, which really floored me. I was astounded by how emotionally draining it was to watch Pete perform that role."
