Rick and Morty is coming back this October 10 for a Halloween special

If you miss Rick and Morty since the last season, they're coming back

The hit animated comedy 'Rick and Morty' is currently in its fifth season, and the next one won't be available for some time. Rick and Morty have just returned from a little hiatus. Even though it will be a while until we see our favorite dimension-hopping duo again after Season 5, the showrunners have something special in store for fans in October when Rick and Morty return on October 10.

'The Great Yokai Battle of Akihabara will be the subject of a brand-new Halloween special on Adult Swim on 10 October, and the special will be shown again on Toonami's late-night block on 16 October.

An anime horror short inspired by Japanese culture will air on Halloween, according to reports. "Rick wants to construct an AI toaster; Things take an odd turn when he and Morty must fly to Akihabara for spare components," reads the synopsis from Adult Swim Canada, which teases their next adventure.

Rick and Morty have previously paid respect to anime in between episodes. This is not the first time they've done it.

Takashi Sano, the director of Tower of God's 'Summer Meets God (Rick Meets Evil)', used parts from Voltron and Evangelion to make a strange satire on Japanese animation.

Channel Adult Swim will reportedly show a special Halloween episode of their hit series, "The Great Yokai Battle of Akihabara," on October 10 with a recap set for October 16 according to reports. This event will feature an appearance by 'Rick and Morty,' who will provide the comic relief. Despite the fact that 'Rick and Morty' and Adult Swim are keeping mum on what will happen in the forthcoming short and where it will run, Toonami and Adult Swim Canada's schedules have already revealed the date and time, according to the CN schedules Twitter account. A fifteen-minute window has been left open—between 11 and 11:15 pm ET—which very well assures the airtime for this halloween-special short from Adult Swim.

There will be a Halloween special in between regular episodes, which will be an anime of terror. When Rick and Morty must drive to Akihabara for spare components for Rick's AI toaster, things take a weird turn, according to the description.

On the other hand, Rick and Morty have already done normal episodes while paying homage to anime. Takashi Sano, the director of Tower of God's 'Summer Meets God,' drew inspiration for the film from Voltron and Evangelion as well as Rick Meets Evil. The Rick and Morty vs. Genocider anime short, which was released before to the start of season 5, was directed by Sano as well.
