Blackpink Stops Accepting Fan Gifts

They encourage the fans to donate in Blackpink's name instead.

In order to cease receiving gifts from their army of Blinks, BLACKPINK would like its fans to donate their tokens of thanks to a more worthy cause. The K-pop supergroup YG declared on Tuesday (Oct. 12) that they will no longer accept gifts in the future, according to their record label. Aside from handwritten fan letters addressed to members Lisa, Jennie, Jisoo and Rosé, there are no other exceptions to the gift requirement.

"We would want to express our gratitude to our loyal fans who have always supported BLACKPINK by informing them about fan support. BLACKPINK members have been battling for a long time to inform you about the support and presents that fans have planned for them, but they have now managed to do so "Translations of the official statement are provided below.

"In the future, we would like to politely decline requests for anniversaries (group debut anniversary, solo debut anniversary, birthday), broadcasts (music broadcasts, radio, entertainment), performances (snacks, donation wreaths), and postal gifts in honor of BLACKPINK's special days (group debut anniversary, solo debut anniversary, birthday).

Instead of directly delivering the gifts and support you are arranging, we would really appreciate it if you could consider delivering them indirectly to areas in need or for good causes (instead)."

BLACKPINK has also said on their official website that they would not take presents for important occasions such as Christmas, New Year's Day, or Chuseok (Korean Thanksgiving Day). Gifts that are not in the same category as a personal letter will not be delivered to the K-pop artists. All items, including flower bouquets and other random gifts, that are left at the YG offices will be thrown away. The new regulation takes effect on Tuesday, October 12, and will remain in force until further notice.

The introduction of BLACKPINK's gift rule follows the release of Lisa's first solo album. On September 10, the rapper dropped a two-track EP named Lalisa, which had two songs. Lillie achieved No. 2 on both the Billboard Global 200 list and the Global Excl. U.S. chart with her lead single, "Lalisa."
