Adele Finally Drops The Release Date of New Single

We have a month to wait, and it's making us excited.

Adele has finally announced the release of her fourth studio album, and we only have a little more than a month to wait.

The Columbia release, titled 30, will be released on November 19th, following in the footsteps of her previous releases, 19, 21, and 25. For the last week, the British soul chanteuse has been teasing the project's debut single, "Easy on Me," by posting portions of the music video and playing a piece of the song (revealing some of its lyrics) on Instagram Stories. Adele announced on Tuesday (Oct. 12) that "Easy on Me" would be released to the public on Thursday (Oct. 14) at 7 p.m. ET (midnight in her native U.K.).

The announcement on Wednesday (Oct. 13) is accompanied by a lengthy note from Adele, who has been married and divorced from Simon Konecki since the release of her blockbuster 25 album, which set the record for best single-week album sales since Nielsen (now MRC Data) began tracking point-of-sale music in 1991. In its first week, it sold 3.38 million copies.

"When I initially started it three years ago, I was nothing near where I had intended to be. Quite the contrary, in fact. I've always relied on regularity and predictability to feel safe. And yet, there I was, voluntarily or not, plunging myself into a maze of total chaos and inner agony!" Adele says in a message accompanying the announcement of the release date. "Along the road, I've discovered some shocking realities about myself. I've lost several layers while simultaneously adding new ones." Adele claims that "I've finally regained my senses. I'd even go so far as to say I've never felt more at ease in my life."

Adele goes on to compare the album to an invaluable friend, a "ride or die companion during the most tumultuous era of my life." She finishes by stating, "Since then, I've carefully rebuilt my house and my heart, and this record chronicles the process. The heart is where the home is."
